Faye specialises in an ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine called Auriculotherapy.
Auriculotherapy is a technique that uses acupuncture points on the external aspect of the ears to diagnose and treat medical conditions of the whole body.
Auricular medicine is used all over the world to treat pain, addictions which include smoking cessation, and drug and food addictions. It is also beneficial for emotional issues and internal disorders which has been researched by many clinical trials with excellent results.
There is information in the oldest preserved Chinese manual of Medicine from the 4th Century that the ear is a meeting point of all of the energetic channels (acupuncture meridians) of the body.
In the 1950's, Dr. Paul Nogier of Lyon, France expanded the original Chinese auricular charts into a more comprehensive system. His work demonstrated that the ear alone is a microsystem of the entire human body and thus, all parts of our bodies can be evaluated and treated for pain and disease just from the ears. Faye likes to encorporate this Ancient system of auricular acupuncture with full body acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine to give her patients the best possible health care at all times.
Faye attended a 4 day masterclass to specialise in this field of acupuncture and trained at the Yuan Traditional Medicine College in London under the watchful eye of Mr John Tindall. John has taught thousands of acupuncturists worldwide and has over 30 years of clinical practice and teaching.
Auriculotherapy has been used to treat many common ailments, such as hay fever, asthma, ADHD, Migraine, chronic joint pain such as arthritis, IBS, colitis and much more. Many of Faye's patients come for regular detoxification and general wellbeing on a regular basis as part of their healthcare regimes.
One of the fastest growing areas in which Auricular Acupuncture is being used is for the treatment of addictions and has been growing in popularity over the last 25 years. It was in 1985 that DR. Michael Smith founded the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA), an organisation that specialises in the treatment of substance abuse. Following much clinical research a five acupuncture point protocol was established and Faye is trained and qualified also in this field.
